1. Bacillus coagulans produces a large amount of L(+)-lactic acid through metabolizing and lower the pH of surrounding environment. At the same time, coagulin-based bacteriocins and bacteriocin-like substances are produced to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria effectively.
